We are a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue. We request a charitable donation for each Love Leo dog available for adoption.
The donation allows us to provide excellent care and continue to rescue and re-home many dogs that have been dumped or abandoned.
The adoption donation varies based on the age of the dog.
Puppies under a year old: $725
Dogs over a year old: $625
Senior dogs (6 years and older): $525
If the dog is not yet spayed/neutered, we require a refundable $100 deposit, which will be returned upon proof and submission of a valid sterilization certificate.
Our focus is on rescuing dogs with medical needs, injuries, or those requiring extra care and attention. Your adoption donation directly supports essential services such as spay/neuter surgery, food, medical treatment, training, and the ongoing care of other dogs in need.
On average, we spend $1,000 per dog we rescue, and sometimes more, depending on their individual needs.

The adoption donation covers spay/neuter, microchip, the first round of rabies and core vaccinations, a bag of your pet's current diet to help you get started, a new martingale collar and tag, and a $150 training session with Decoding Dogs in Mar Vista.
Training is a required part of the adoption process to ensure a smooth transition for your dog into their new home.

We truly appreciate your enthusiasm to adopt and welcome a furry friend into your home! However, we are unable to hold any dog until you are ready.
As a foster-based rescue, we can only save dogs when we have committed foster homes available. Holding a dog longer means we can’t help another shelter or stray dog in need.

Yes! While we typically adopt locally, we do make exceptions. We require all potential adopters to travel to Los Angeles for an initial meeting with the dog.
If the meet-and-greet goes well, you will be responsible for making travel arrangements for both yourself and your new dog’s journey home.
-
As a foster-based rescue, we place our Love Leo dogs in safe, loving foster homes while they await their forever families.
If you're interested in adopting or fostering, an application must be submitted and approved before meeting any of our dogs.
If we contact you after submitting an application to schedule a meet and greet, that means you are approved!

If your pet is experiencing behavioral issues, please reach out to us directly at loveleorescue@gmail.com. We work with Cassian at Decoding Dogs and require a session with him within one week of bringing your new dog home.
You can find more information about his services on his website: www.decodingdogs.com.
Cassian has been a trusted partner for over two years and is an excellent resource for creating structure and a thriving environment for both pets and their owners.

While we wish we could help every lost animal, we recommend first taking them to a local vet to scan for a microchip.
It's a free service, and any vet can assist. Simply looking at the dog won’t reveal if it’s a stray or has escaped from home.

We wish we could help every dog in need, but Los Angeles is currently in a crisis.
Shelters and rescues are at full capacity, making rehoming extremely challenging.
We strongly urge you to do everything possible to keep your pet, as taking them to a shelter is stressful and unsafe.
With many rescues having little to no room, we can only bring pets into our care when we have a committed foster home available.
Please fill out our contact form or email us at loveleorescue@gmail.com with some details about your pet along with photos and why you need to re-home them.
